Routes to Iasi

Iasi has its own international airport receiving flights from dozens of destinations, for touristic reasons but mainly to serve connection routes to the Romanian diaspora across Europe.

The hungarian, Wizz Air operates the majority of the flights connecting Iasi with cities such as:

  • Barcelona

  • Madrid

  • London (Luton)

  • Istanbul

  • Bologna

  • Paris (Beauvais)

  • Roma (Ciampino, Roma (Fiumicino)

  • Venice (Marco Polo)

Note: Wizz Air is a low cost company and the level of service is suboptimal, but they take you to the destination.

Recommended Route

There are two important routes that can help you make your travel experience easier. Flying with Iberia, Caracas-Madrid, and connecting Madrid with Iasi in a 4 hours flight. The second option, and the best one from our point of view, is flying with Turkish Airlines, Caracas-Estambul, and connecting Istanbul with Iasi with Wizz Air, in an hour flight.

In theory, there are no travel restrictions in place for Venezuelans travelling to Romania. However, it is recommended to follow basic recommendations such as:

  • Up to date passport with more than 3 months away from the expiry date

  • Show a return or onward ticket

  • Prove you have enough money for your stay

  • Keep at hand the documents with the details of the accommodation booking

  • Ensure your passport is stamped at entry and exit.

These requirements have been already discussed with the Consular Representation of Venezuela in Bucharest, there was only one additional recommendation which was an invitation letter (not mandatory)

London gives you an unlimited amount of possibilities when it comes to flights and connections. The recommendation for the guests is to take a direct flight from London Luton to Iasi, the duration of the flight is 3 hours and 40 minutes.

Other options for those who are looking to take a longer holiday, cities like Bucharest or Brasov in Transylvania are worth visiting and using the local airports to fly to Iasi or renting a car and driving across the country.  Nevertheless local flights in Romania tend to be more expensive than international flights.
